In 1972 the French government awarded Vacheron Constantin the Diplome du Prestige de la France, an award recognizing excellence and achievement in various fields, including arts, culture, and industry. To commemorate this, Vacheron Constantin created the Prestige de la France 1972, an unconventional, yet very 1970s, asymmetrical watch.
