In 1959, Citizen started making dive watches, with the first Japanese made water-resistant mechanical watch known as “Parawater”. Since then the series is known as the Fugu, the Pufferfish in Japanese. The original series is NY004, Citizen has introduced its successor NY008.
NY008 series is similar to the NY004, carrying a relatively small size case of 42mm. The bezel has alternating smooth and serrated edges provide a better grip for diver underwater; the bezel gives the watch its signature look and gave the name - Fugu. Last but not least, NY008 has its crown at 8 o’clock position like all other Fugu.
The Citizen NY008 feels like a robust, sturdy dive watch made for the masses; moreover, wallet-friendly.
NY0083-14X is facelifted with a plating gold bezel and a ruby brown dial; it is suitable for wearing at various type of occasions.
